I’m a 40-something mum to three kids, aged between 9 and 15. Besides the kids, I share my home with my husband, two dogs, one cockatiel and two chooks in Perth, Western Australia (well, the chooks live outside, not in the home).
I work part-time in the finance industry, and am currently studying for qualifications in that field. But I do more unpaid work than anything else, because I love being an active member of my local community. I can’t seem to stop myself from getting involved – junior sports clubs, schools, community events, and other organisations whose lifeblood is volunteers. A compulsive joiner with a healthy dash of control freak thrown in for good measure (sometimes not so healthy, haha). Hopefully that means I get a lot of good Karma brownie points in this and my next life!
I like to be creative, being especially fond of rescuing and revamping old furniture with a lick of paint and a bit of imagination. Who says that a chair has to be sat on, or that a drawer has to sit horizontally? Lately, I’ve finally been able to dedicate a bit more time to something that I’ve wanted to do for a loooooooooong time – photography. I’m still on a learning curve with the multitude of features a DSLR camera has and practicing, practicing, practicing how to take great photos.
So, that’s me in a nutshell, nice to meet you!
